you had me at bourbon! hehe. James really wants to try a good “man” drink. I think this might do!

I love to cook so making treats are one of my favorites ways to celebrate special occassions. You certainly gave me a few ideas :)

I one of those grumpy Valetine’s hater types. I think it’s all the years working in restaurants and Valentine’s Day was one of the worst days of the year to work, as far as it being super busy and the customers expecting perfection. I fully expect Jeff to bring home some Krispy Kremes and we’ll just sit around playing video games tonight. That hot maple-nut bourbon sounds realllly good though.

Aw, I can understand from having to work in the industry. We use it an excuse to eat crazy food and have fun – but no extravagant gifts (if we do any, our limit is typically $20). Enjoy your donuts and video game fun!

Isn’t fondue fun! That recipe also brings back memories of a fun night – I love how food and photos can do that. :)

Ha – I went the other direction today! Sorry you don’t have plans for tonight, but grilled cheese sounds fun. Maybe with some crazy add-ins?

Mmm, hot bourbon and a bowl of “cheese.” That sounds just about right for Valentine’s Day ;) I’m my own sweetie, so you can bet I’m making me treats!

That Maple Nut Bourbon looks divine! I’m a single gal- so nothing tonight but all of my college girls and I are doing a VDay pubcrawl this weekend, so that should be a riot! Have fun next weekend!

I think a Vday pubcrawl sounds fantastic? Good pubs (I hope)?

Yes ma’am! It hits a bunch of the historical bars in downtown Boston. I’ve kept away from the dodgy bars since I graduated, thank goodness!

I like to make sweets for myself! I’m normally pretty good about sharing them with friends too.

If I make them for myself I have to share! My self control isn’t good enough to stop eating them if they’re all for me. :)

Lauren @ Oatmeal after Spinning February 14, 2013 at 11:01 AM

Greg would love anything bourbon! And yeah… I would too. :)
We are cooking dinner at home tonight. I drove 40 minutes to go get a wild turbot filet from Whole Foods, because it is the best fish ever. We’ve been going out to eat WAY too much and I would so much rather just cook a nice meal at home. :)
Happy V-day to you and Kirk!! xoxo

That really is my favorite bourbon drink – I ask Kirk to make it for me all the time. :) Wild Turbot? I don’t know that one. Enjoy your dinner at home, I know it will be fabulous!
