Happy Valentine’s Day!! Today is an unconventional holiday for our family, as I’m traveling on business through the weekend and won’t be home to share the night with my sweetie. Don’t worry, we’ll make up for it next weekend. :)
Assuming you’re probably home with your sweetie tonight, I thought I’d share a few recipes that would be great additions to your plans. Breakfast in bed, appetizers to share, drinks to warm you up, and dessert to end on a sweet note. Whatever you’re looking for, I’ve got a recipe for you!
German Chocolate Donuts & Donut Bites
Pumpkin Protein Breakfast Cake
Molten Cheese Fondue
Hot Maple-Nut Bourbon
Chocolate Spice Cake
Bourbon Bananas Foster Crepe

Questions for you:
- Do you like to make treats for your sweetie on special occasions?
- What are you doing to celebrate tonight?

you had me at bourbon! hehe. James really wants to try a good “man” drink. I think this might do!

It’s a good one – I ask for it often. :)
I love to cook so making treats are one of my favorites ways to celebrate special occassions. You certainly gave me a few ideas :)
Yay – glad I could help! :)
Mmmm :) So the pumpkin breakfast cake link isn’t working, but I’m pretty certain I need to make.
Thanks for letting me know, I’ve fixed it now! :)
I one of those grumpy Valetine’s hater types. I think it’s all the years working in restaurants and Valentine’s Day was one of the worst days of the year to work, as far as it being super busy and the customers expecting perfection. I fully expect Jeff to bring home some Krispy Kremes and we’ll just sit around playing video games tonight. That hot maple-nut bourbon sounds realllly good though.

Aw, I can understand from having to work in the industry. We use it an excuse to eat crazy food and have fun – but no extravagant gifts (if we do any, our limit is typically $20). Enjoy your donuts and video game fun!
Holy cow–the crepe looks mouth-watering! Wow. Happy Valentine’s Day!! I am planning on making a special dinner for us tonight to celebrate. :)

That’s one of Kirk’s recipes – from last Valentine’s day actually! It’s an adventurous one and so tasty. :)
My sweet doesn’t like sweets, but we would both go gaga over that cheese fondue!

Isn’t fondue fun! That recipe also brings back memories of a fun night – I love how food and photos can do that. :)
You should travel down here and make me all of the. Lol!
Tonight I am treating my sweet self by washing the sheets and possibly having a grilled cheese.

Ha – I went the other direction today! Sorry you don’t have plans for tonight, but grilled cheese sounds fun. Maybe with some crazy add-ins?
Mmm, hot bourbon and a bowl of “cheese.” That sounds just about right for Valentine’s Day ;) I’m my own sweetie, so you can bet I’m making me treats!

Ooh – I hadn’t thought of those two together, but now I want it! Spoil yourself tonight. :)
YUM!! everything looks great
Thanks Michelle!
That Maple Nut Bourbon looks divine! I’m a single gal- so nothing tonight but all of my college girls and I are doing a VDay pubcrawl this weekend, so that should be a riot! Have fun next weekend!

I think a Vday pubcrawl sounds fantastic? Good pubs (I hope)?
Yes ma’am! It hits a bunch of the historical bars in downtown Boston. I’ve kept away from the dodgy bars since I graduated, thank goodness!
I like to make sweets for myself! I’m normally pretty good about sharing them with friends too.

If I make them for myself I have to share! My self control isn’t good enough to stop eating them if they’re all for me. :)
Greg would love anything bourbon! And yeah… I would too. :)
We are cooking dinner at home tonight. I drove 40 minutes to go get a wild turbot filet from Whole Foods, because it is the best fish ever. We’ve been going out to eat WAY too much and I would so much rather just cook a nice meal at home. :)
Happy V-day to you and Kirk!! xoxo
That really is my favorite bourbon drink – I ask Kirk to make it for me all the time. :) Wild Turbot? I don’t know that one. Enjoy your dinner at home, I know it will be fabulous!
I wish I had someone to share these treats with tonight… Aah why must I have a midterm tomorrow :(

Ew – midterms sound no fun! I think you should just move the celebration until tomorrow night. :)
I think I want the breakfast cake. No plans for us tonight. I did actually make a treat though – found a recipe from Lisa at Thrive Style for some Chocolate PB cups. crazy simple. Hope they taste good ;-)

In case you were having trouble finding that recipe, I fixed the link now. :) Chocolate PB cups sound great – let me know how they taste!
My Hubs is out of town for work too so I’m solo this V-day. I always get red velvet cupcakes for us to share but this year it looks like I’ll be enjoying them via Facetime!
