Do you remember me complaining about my lack of cute workout gear? If not, I’m glad you didn’t notice that I complained. I always have plenty of stuff to run in, but it’s usually old race shirts and shorts or pants I’ve owned for years. For some reason, I never found time (or money) to buy cute stuff for training.
Well, today I want to tell you about a new company I’m excited is going to help me fix that problem….PV Body!
What’s the Deal?
If you haven’t heard of them before, PV Body is a monthly subscription box (a Fit Box) that sends you a fitness outfit that fits your style. For $49.95 a month, each Fit Box contains a top and bottom that is customized to your profile and is valued at over $100! So basically, it’s a new outfit that’s at least 50% off every month!! For someone like me who is in need of cute fitness clothes, this sounds amazing and I jumped at the opportunity to give it a try!!
How do they know your style? You take an online quiz to describe your workout style. The questions are things like:
-
What is your favorite way to stay in shape? I love to run/ I love the gym/ I love yoga/ I love being comfy
-
What style of tops do you like? Racerback/ Fitted/ Cami/ Short Sleeve/ Long Sleeve/ Loose Fitting
-
What color palette do you like? Neutral/ Pastel/ Black-White-Grey/ Bold/ Bright/ Conservative
-
etc….
Once you’ve filled out your profile, you’ll get your first Fit Box customized to your preferences! And if you want to change your preferences every month, you can edit them at any time.
My Experience
My first box came in November and contained long tights by American Apparel and a green cami from Nux. I’m weird about top sizing and the one I got was a little too snug for my liking. . The fun “Be Epic” logo’d shirt fit well though!
This is where things got off to a rocky start. I needed to exchange my top for a larger size, but after numerous emails was getting nowhere. I was ready to give up and move on with life, because I would never endorse a product here that I feel uncomfortable with or wouldn’t buy with my own money.
Then things turned around and I received a special package with a letter of apology, another full bonus outfit, and a Lululemon gift card. Obviously, I would have preferred if everything had gone smoothly from the start, but to see a company admit their mistakes and really make it right is AWESOME! I know that mistakes will happen – it’s how a company deals with them that shows their true nature. PV Body won me over here!
So what was in my second package? A pair of crop tights and racerback top, both from Nux! The tights are something I don’t think I would have picked out myself, but I’m so glad they were picked out for me. The bottom of the pants are finished with ruching, with a wide waistband at the top. My tummy is my least favorite body part and the waistband has a bit of control, which is very flattering!
Both outfits are actually comfortable, cute, and go easily with other things I have!
The Verdict
You’ll notice a new logo in my sidebar for PV Body, because I’ve decided to sign on as a Ambassador! I’m happy to represent a company that not only delivers a quality product that fits me, but also backs it up when mistakes are made. I’m signing up with my own money in January and I’m excited to see what I get next. I’m going to update my profile, just to get more variety in my workouts clothes.
Now here’s the part where you’re going to care…
As an ambassador, I can offer you 20% off your own Fit Box from PV Body!! Just use this link (or any link on my page) to sign up and take advantage of 20% off your first month! You can cancel at any time, so don’t worry if you only really want one box.
But if you’re anything like me, you probably won’t want to stop after just one box.
And if that wasn’t enough – there’s a special January promotion you’re really going to love even more! You can sign up for the 30 Day Challenge to kick start your resolutions! This is available for both new and current members (or pv.body babes, as they like to call it).

Truthfully, most of my workout stuff is from Target, is 5 years old and seems to be fine. That and old race shirts. I’m not the trendiest worker-outer.
haha – I know that feeling and it’s okay! :) I think I just got tired of spending so much time in clothes I didn’t really like – I’m going through two workout outfits a day typically now. :)
This sounds like a great idea. I really need to be better about what I work out in. Mostly, I work out in discarded t-shirts!

I have been surprised that I actually notice a difference working out in stuff that matches, apparently I care more than I thought. :)
I keep seeing PV Body everywhere! I like the idea, but I’m so picky about my workout gear–plus I don’t go for brand names usually, so I think picking stuff up on my own still ends up being cheaper–but definitely less adventurous! Hmm, maybe that means I need to try a new way of shopping… Love the handstand pic, and the hot pink/black combo!
I know what you mean, it is a little strange having your stuff picked out for you, but you can always exchange it if you don’t like it too! :) My problem is that I would just NOT buy stuff, I can be so cheap sometimes!
I love picturing Kirk taking shot after shot of you trying to get the handstand pose perfect. Lol!

Honestly – one shot! :) But it’s not as cool as Linz’s free standing handstand photo on her blog today!
I’m glad your bad experience turned into a good one! One of my friends is currently embroiled in a bad pvBody experience and I hope it works for her in the end because I’m an Ambassador too and I have only had good experiences. I think they’re sending me a BE EPIC top soon and I sure hope they do because I love the message!
I hope they make it right for her too – that was such a big encouragement for me!
And you need a Be Epic top for sure!
I’m glad you liked what you got. I got my first box in late November, and the stuff was ok — nothing I would have ever chosen on my own, though. I canceled the subscription because I don’t really have $50 a month to spend on clothes I’m not wild about — I’d rather save it for something I know I’ll wear and use.

Darn, sorry to hear that. Did you let them know you didn’t like it? They will exchange it for something different. Might be worth it for that money you did spend. :)
hehe great minds DO think alike!! :) :) love your outfit!!
I need to learn how to do a handstand like you!
I wish they had something like this for men! I royally suck at picking out work out clothes, so a virtual assistant wouldn’t be a bad choice. Very cool that you got an opportunity to try it out first!

I was thinking that, maybe they’ll expand their line? I think it would help a LOT of guys!
It’s really refreshing when a company rights a wrong and really shows that the appreciate their customers.

Exactly – it doesn’t happen often enough now-a-days. (man, I sound old!).
This sounds like a great idea for people who workout a lot. A little pricy for me as it does workout to 600$ a year but it’s uber cool that you became an ambassador for them ^^

The amount of workout clothes I go through right now is a little crazy. :) I have thought about starting and stopping my membership throughout the year if it gets too much, so it doesn’t have to be as bad. It would be cool if they had an every 2 months option or something like that too!
Loving the outfits friend! I’m trying to dress cuter for working out so I don’t feel as “blah” when teaching. :) Happy New year!

Thanks! Glad I’m not the only one just discovering cute clothes. Although I think you started before me, you’ve had cute stuff for a while now! :)
What a cute top! I like it. :)
Thanks Tiff! :)
What an awesome business idea! I think I need to try this out because I’m like you and could always use new workout clothes instead of race tees. :)
Congrats on becoming an ambassador!

Wish we had thought of it first, right?! I’m seriously purging my old race shirt collection now, which was LONG overdue.
I had the same problem with PVbody! They never sent me my gift card from Lululemon like they told me :( I know they are a new company but I hope they get things rolling better because I LOVE the idea! I did love my outfit! Glad you had a great experience with them! Love + Shine C
I think like you said, they are still working through the kinks, but I’m disappointed when I hear they didn’t come through for you. Maybe give them another call (or email) and ask them to make it right?
I always worked out in just ‘whatever’ but when I started running more, I began to pay more attention to what I was wearing….mostly once it started to get cold and I HAD to. Now I kind of love workout clothes, but I still don’t spend a lot of money on them. I actually LIKE the inexpensive Champion gear at Target and such. However, I love that Be Epic shirt…

Me too, believe me I’m cheap at heart. But $40 for a top and bottom is a pretty good deal to me – even compared to target. And seriously, I’m wearing the stuff I got ALL the time. :)
Glad they made everything right with you! I’m having some serious problems with them right now – I ordered back in November, received notice of shipping problems Dec 21 (resolved over the phone) but have not yet gotten my package and no one is responding to emails/phone calls. Totally bummed.
Just checking in to make sure everything’s worked out okay since I emailed you. Let me know if you need any help! :)
Still haven’t received it sadly – PV Body did their part in sending me a tracking number but now it’s stuck somewhere between USPS and FedEx – each company telling me to call the other to find the package even though the tracking statement says that it needs to be scheduled for redelivery. Such a nightmare! Thanks for checking in though :)
I love that “Be Epic” top!
Thanks Crystal – it’s good motivation when you are tired. :)
Worst customer service ever. Returned one piece ages ago and still no exchange has arrived.
If you don’t mind, I could pass on your info to my contact and see if we could get it resolved. Would that work for you?
