What Does 24 Divided By 7 Equal?

The answer: a very short post! I know you were probably hoping for a race recap today (which was my original plan), but we got back little too late for my brain to put together a good post tonight.

As everyone knows by now, Hurricane Sandy is beating up the East Coast. It was kind and held off on race day, but our flight out Monday night was cancelled pretty quickly on Sunday. As the daughter of a retired flight attendant, I can be pretty creative with my travel plans when needed. So we ended up renting a car and driving from DC to Detroit through 5 states: Washington DC (okay, not technically a state), Maryland, Pennsylvania (where we slept on Sunday night), Ohio, and Michigan.

Our flight from Detroit took us to Minneapolis, Minnesota (state #6) and then finally to Denver (home state #7). Our trip started around 6:30PM on Sunday and we landed in Denver around 8PM Monday.

So with that – I’m headed to bed. If you’re on the East Cost, I’m praying that you stay safe and that things don’t get too rough where you are!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a race recap!

I am impressed! I probably would have just thrown up my hands and gotten a hotel. Too bad your re-route didn’t take you through ATL. :)

YIKES. I can’t imagine driving for that long after a marathon. But I keep forgetting how tiny those states are over there. :)

Glad to hear you made it home!

I’m glad you made it home, even if required some detours! And haha, as the kid of a pilot, I feel you. Going standby led to some really creative route-planning…
