Hello again! It’s a rare day that I share two posts, but today is the start of a week of celebrating – Better With Veggies is turning ONE!! I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I started blogging here, but Wednesday really is the official day.
To help make this week exciting for everyone, I’ve partnered with some of my favorites companies to bring you giveaways this week! There are also a few special discounts for those who don’t win the giveaways, so make sure you’re here all week to join the celebration. =)
********************
Let’s kick off the celebration with one of the brands I talk about the most:
Vega Sportis the sports nutrition line created by retired professional Ironman triathlete Brendan Brazier. All the products are 100% plant-based, dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free, and contains no artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners. Pretty impressive, right?
Just a little more about the products, in case you haven’t tried them yet:
PERFORMANCE PROTEIN
A complete multi-source, alkaline-forming, plant-based protein blend, featuring 5,500mg of BCAAs and 5,000mg of glutamine per serving, Vega Sport Performance Proteinis formulated to:
- Improve strength and exercise performance
- Repair and build muscles
- Reduce recovery time between training
I have used both the chocolate and vanilla flavors in many smoothies – although vanilla is my current favorite!
PROTEIN BAR
A delicious, post-workout bar packed with 15 grams of complete, plant-based protein, Vega Sport Protein Baris formulated to strengthen and regenerate muscles. Like Performance Protein, Vega Sport Protein Bars feature SaviSeeds, a rich, plant-based source of the amino acid tryptophan and Omega 3s.

And now it’s time to share the love of Vega Sport with you – you’re going to LOVE this!! One reader will win a package containing:
- 1 large tub of Vega Sport Protein, in my favorite flavor of vanilla
- 1 box of 12 Vega Sport Proteinpackets, in chocolate
- 2 boxes of Chocolate Coconut Vega Sport Protein bars

I am so excited about this! I LOVE Vega products, but oh my gosh, they are so expensive, so I’ve never even tried the bars or anything outside of the shake n’ go smoothie (which I think has a new name now?). I love a good protein shake after a workout, and I tried a sample of the performance protein and it was perfect–BCAAs included.

Oopsy… I left this out… I recover by drinking my aminos and usually having a protein shake or eating a meal. I usually work out right before lunch or dinner, so I have my protein in my meal.

Thanks for the giveaway! I recover by eating a meal, since I almost always work out before dinner.

I’ve wanted to try Vega for a while. I use aminos, and I drink a protein smoothie following a workout too to help recovery. When I skip it, I can reeeally tell the difference!

Love Vega! I use the recovery accelerator immediately after hard workouts and that plus a nutrient dense shake or meal a half hour to hour after working out and I feel great and ready to train the next day! This has method has served me well in recovering and getting ready for my three triathlons this month!
My favorite way to recover is to just relax and watch one of my favorite shows.
I love Vega! After working out, I recover with a protein shake or eating a banana with almond butter!
I’d love to win this for my husband! We’re both vegan & he started that P90X workout recently, so he could use this after his workouts.
Happy Birthday to your sweet blog! I recover from a workout with a glass of cold, ice water and making a thick scrumptious protein smoothie! Would love to give Vega a try! Thanks so much – great review!
I recover from a hard workout by stretching out my muscles and fueling up with a protein bar or making a protein shake too! Thanks!
I too LOVE the convenience yet whole food aspect of vega but yes, the cost is a little prohibitive. If I could be sponsored by one company, I would chose Vega. nice blog too :)
I love Vega but it’s so expensive! I’m sad that I am unable to afford it… I have been using Life’s Basics Plant Protein in chocolate (reminds me a lot of Vega). I do love the chocolate Vega the best!

YAY! Happy Birthday to your blog!
This giveaway is unbelievable- I’m in love with Vega! If it weren’t so expensive, I’d buy it constantly.
My favorite way to recover after a workout is with looots of water (immediately) and a banana + nuts or a protein shake after 20-30 minutes. (:

I love protein shakes or greek yogurt with granola :)
A quick dip in the pool…just to relax and slow down. :)
My favorite way to recover from a training session is to eat some fruit or veggies and stretch
A good dose of protein helps me recover like peanut butter, cheese, hummus, protein bars and making a protein smoothie! And of course water too!
I’ve been trying to work out in the mornings, so I follow with a green protein smoothie and a hard boiled egg. So I could definitely make use of the Vega powder! I’ve been eyeing it for quite some time! ;)

I always seem to have trouble with ‘recovery’ meals. If I don’t eat the right thing immediately after, nothing I do or eat later can help me to feel normal again. Usually I run in the evenings then have a full dinner when I return. Would be great to have a simple fix so I could have a recovery mini-meal any time of day!

Love this giveaway! How’d I miss it?! ;) My favorite way to recover from a workout or long run is probably w/a green smoothie – not much else sounds super appealing to me after I run. That and with my compression socks and feet propped up. ;)
