Did you enjoy last week’s multisport specific training session? If so, you’re going to today’s session to give you some variety in your muscular endurance training! If not, you should head back over to the first circuit and give it a try. It’s a killer, fun workout!
If not, you really should catch the multisport bug and join us on the dark side!! Seriously, it’s fun over here, even if I’m seriously lacking on the multisport events this year, it’s still my heart and I’m hoping to make time for at least one before the year is done!
No one like doing the same workout over and over, so this is a great workout to round out your first training cycle (Base or General Prep). It’s another workout designed to work all those sport specific muscles and get you ready to amp up your workout volume & intensity without injury. Did I mention increasing your strength and power?
If you’re a beginner, don’t be afraid to shorten this workout to 2 rounds. I know that I’ve had to modify some workouts in the intense 30 Day Ab Challenge from Amanda (Run To The Finish) and Susan (Strong Like Susan). So make you you work at your own pace and don’t overdo it!
In case any of these exercises are unfamiliar to you, check out these videos:
- Step-ups (with or without dumbells)
- Rows (dumbells or resistance band)
- Hamstring Rollout (ball or TRX)
- Plank
- Bicep 21s
- Monster Walks (with resistance band)
- Dips (bench, chair, or bed)
- Calf Raises (step or chair)
Remember that if you’re looking for some individual guidance, we’re always here to help you meet your goals with online coaching for runners or multisport athletes of all abilities!

We’re in serious countdown mode for the move to Colorado around here. Kirk is an amazing packer and has been safely packing all of our belongings in boxes. Have I mentioned how lucky I am?! The movers are coming on Friday, so it’s becoming really real. I’ve been having moments of sadness through the day as I remember how far I’m moving away from so many amazing people. I’m still incredibly excited about the opportunity, but it’s so sad to be leaving people behind. Can I just move all my friends to Colorado?! ;)

Questions for you:
-
Are you up for the challenge of a multisport race? Duathlon, Triathlon, what’s next on your list?
-
For all my friends taking the 30 Day Ab Challenge – are you dying as much as me through these workouts? I’m a core weakling, apparently!

that looks like a great workout! i’ve never done monster walks before! good luck with moving, girl! :)
I learned monster walks when rehabing a strained muscle a few years ago – a great exercise!
Great workout! You know I love those push ups. I miss them since I’ve been training.
Good luck with all the packing. Let me know if you guys need any help. We’ll miss you, but you know all your ATL friends will be clamoring to come see you in Denver!
I know it – trying to be more consistent on doing them myself, they are such a great move!
Good luck on your move! I’d move to Colorado, too, if I could!
To answer Q. 1: I did an olympic distance tri 10 days ago, and on July 21, I’ll be doing a solo triathlon as a fundraiser for a mission project in Honduras. My birthday is the next day, so I’m doing total miles equal to the number of years I will be. I wrote more about it on my blog: http://insearchof-millerb.blogspot.com/
Thanks – we’re pretty excited about the new opportunity!
I love the idea of a tri to raise money for a mission trip – what a great idea! I’ll have to check out the post. :)
that looks awfully familiar ;)
Emphasis on awful. :-)
What a fun workout! My abs are so weak too!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one – something for us to work on. :)
Laura (Sprint 2 the table) sent me over here for some tri advice… doing my first one next Sunday! I’m finding lots of helpful tips. :) Best of luck in your move, that’s always a huge transition, especially across the country!
