Today was a good day! I woke up early, while it was still cool outside and got a short & easy run in before work. Just enough time for 3 miles (which is shorter than I’d like right now), but 3 miles is better than 0 miles! I’ll share more on this in a future post, but suffice it to say I haven’t been very consistent with my training recently. Working on it!
What I Ate Yesterday
I need something before I run, so I tried out this new Vega Energizing Smoothie mixed with water before the run. Full review to come – stay tuned!
I rushed around after my run to make it to work for an early meeting with my mentoring group. I made a big bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar + raisins to enjoy during our meeting.
Knowing veggies would be mostly absent at dinner, I loaded up at lunch. A big plate of veggies, mixed with sweet potato, and topped by salsa. I may have been inspired by this meal posted by Lindsay yesterday!
I came home from work with a LOT to do before I had company over for a Lia Sophia jewelry party. Somehow, I managed to throw together mini-pimiento cheeze sandwiches, chocolate coconut shortbread cookies, and “bacon” white bean hummus. To be honest, I wasn’t thrilled with my impromptu cookies, but they have potential (although I only have 4 left, and I made a lot)– a recipe to tweak for another time!
Lia Sophia Party
I wasn’t always a jewelry person. In fact, for the first 8 years of my work-life, I really didn’t wear anything. At all. But after picking up a few small pieces when I travelled, I hosted a Lia Sophia party a few years ago and I was hooked! About half of my “jewelry closet” is filled with pieces from Lia Sophia and it’s really awesome stuff.
Last night, I was happy to host my second party, with my awesome friend Malinda as the consultant! She spent a few minutes giving an overview of the company and a contest for a cute pair of earrings (which my mom won!).
It was great to see some good friends, some I hadn’t seen in far too long! We had wine, food, and shopping in the dining room. It really was so much fun and I loved every minute of it!
My free hostess gift was this amazing wood & silver double necklace – I can’t wait to show this one off!
I also picked out a whole bunch of other awesome pieces, which I should be able to show off in a week or so. Including this necklace that I also gave to my sister for Christmas. I almost kept it for myself then, but decided you are supposed to give gifts that you like, right?
I’ll share the rest when it arrives – don’t you worry!

Oatmeal is my weakness. Espically when topped with amazing thing!! :) Looks the party was pretty fun to!! Can’t wait to see what you got!
I can’t wait to get it and share it with you – it already shipped, so I hope that will be soon!
My favorite eat of the week was the bacon hummus! I think I seriously at half the bowl. Must get my hand on that syrup ASAP. :)
And those cookies were good. Maybe a little more sweetness, but I loved their biscuit-like quality. It was strangely addicting.

I guess I should write down that recipe next time I make it, it was a much bigger hit than I expected! The cookies were actually better today, I’ll make them again for sure, just a little more stevia next time. :)
Sorry I couldn’t make it. I actually wore a Lia Sophia necklace yesterday now that I think about it!
We missed you, but I totally understand. :)
I had fun too! And you got some awesome pieces of jewelry!
Those choc cookies were just the perfect sweet treat after the bacony goodness. :-)
Thanks girl!!!

I’m the same way with bracelets, they’re rare. They get in my way while I’m typing. :)
I wear jewelry everyday, when I forget to wear it I feel naked haha I’ve gotten so used to having a ring, earrings, watch & necklace on it’s wear when I don’t wear any.
Me too – especially earrings. Its funny how much my outlook has changed over the years!
My favorite “eat” this week was the wine I drank last night… ha! Does that count? Malbec yumminess. Accompanied by cheese and crackers. It was a mid-week indulgence but soooooooo worth it :) I’m not a huge jewelry person, but have a couple rings I like. I hardly EVER wear earrings. And necklaces maybe once every 2 weeks. :)

Totally counts! You and Melody (friend of mine) would love to sip wine together – she’s a huge Malbec fan too. :)
I’m not a jewelry person. I wear my wedding/engagement ring every day, along with some small studs in my ears. If I’m feeling FANCY I put on some dangly earrings. I have a lot of cute jewelry, because I have a lot of friends that make it- but I just always forget about it. And at work, there’s no need for me to make the effort to impress anyone with my looks (since my audience is a bunch of teenagers).
My favorite eat was probably my breakfast this morning. Or my dinner tonight, because on Wed nights Greg cooks. :)
I love handmade jewelry, feel free to send me stuff you don’t wear! I can see not dressing up for the kids at work. :)
That necklace is beautiful!! What an awesome hostess gift :D
I love eating lunches like that sometimes. Yam, veggies, salsa, yes please! And I really want to try that Vega smoothie!

I know – I love Lia Sophia hostess gifts because they are always something amazing! I’ll be sharing much more about the Vega smoothies, I like to be thorough. :)
It’s a fact. Women love cookies. And jewelry. Mostly cookies.

Hahaha – so true!! :)
Your loaded sweet potato / veggie lunch looks like most of my dinners – it is my favorite!
My Aunt used to throw Lia Sophia parties. So fun. I do love jewelry. I tend to go with the basics for clothes and dress it up with accessories. I love scarfs too

I had a similar potato for lunch today, it might become a new regular thing. :) I love when people use accessories to dress up an outfit like you do! I’m still learning how that works for me.
I just bought the same Vega. Can’t wait to try it!
Review of the Vega is coming very soon! =)
