If you follow me on twitter, you know that Run Club at my gym was cancelled for 2012.
Quick back story, I have been the Run Club Coordinator/Coach at my gym for the past 3 years, since I joined this gym really. It was my first experience leading runners and it was SO much fun! Unfortunately, we have struggled to really grow the Run Club since it began and our recent average of 8-10 runners was not quite what the club was hoping to achieve.
So, when I got the call on January 3rd I understood, but it was still disappointing.
…Another Door Opens
The SAME DAY, I got a call from Team 65 Roses to confirm my interest in coaching their group of runners for the Publix Georgia Half Marathon! Isn’t God cool?!
The email went out to the team last night – so I’m famous official!
I’m really excited about the opportunity to work with this group. I had wanted to get involved a volunteer activity again and this is a great way to incorporate my love of running in the mix. Yay for new opportunities!
SeaSnax Giveaway Reminder
Don’t forget to register for the SeaSnax giveaway – one of my favorite new snacks! Entries are open through Saturday (1/14) and you can get a bonus entry every day by tweeting about it.
What I Ate Wednesday
And since we’re halfway through the workweek, it’s also time for What I Ate Wednesday! I’m breaking tradition again this week and doing a quick recap of some of my favorite (photographed) eats from the last few weeks.
As a reminder:
What WIAW isn’t about

What WIAW is about
Celebrating one of the glorious things we all have in common: We all eat!
WIAW is about food and fun! It’s about making new friends, breaking out of a food rut, inspiring yourself & others, embracing fruit & vegetables, finding new ways to eat your favorite foods, and so much more <3
Celebrate blogging. Celebrate Food. Celebrate Individuality.
[Cause over here, we like to party!]
Another road-trip restaurant** find was Happy Healthy Human in Indian Harbour Beach, FL, where we split the Lunch for Two.

So neat when things like that happen! I’m really happy for you! :)
I know – it’s awesome. Thanks Carol!
I’m so happy for you, famous Coach Heather. :)

Well, famous in very small circles anyway. ;)
Congrats Heather! That will be an awesome opportunity for you.

Thanks Lee – I’m looking forward to it!
Friends dont post pictures of friends with no make up ;)
Oh man – I forgot you didn’t love that photo. I think you look great, I didn’t even remember you had no makeup!
I love stories like that! :-) so cool! They are lucky to have you!
Thanks Malinda!
Congrats on the running group, it is amazing how things happen that way, very fortunate! I’ve never been to a raw restaurant as there aren’t any in my immediate vicinity (more to the pity :-()but I’m going to London next month and I’m hoping to find something delectable on my trip there ;-).

Thanks Jen! Based on my one experience with raw, I hope you can find one to try – delicious!!
good lord woman, that is some good eatin! pass me a plate, and some dates!
Hehehe… I tend to have a more interesting post when it’s not just food from one day, although I like both kinds. Don’t you just love dates?!
Loved the sneak peek into your eats, Heather! It’s fun to get a glimpse of what others eat…and walnuts into dates as a snack? Genius, simple, and healthy! Love that. I’ve never tried a raw food restaurant but would LOVE to! I know I would love the foods and restaurants always do a great job of making things look great as well as taste delicious. Unfortunately, the options are not so great here in Calgary – it’s where Alberta beef comes from, after all! ;)
Isn’t that so cool how God works? Closes one door and opens another (though not always so clearly – love when he makes his plans obvious like that!). :) Congrats on that role and it will be fun to follow you along in it!

I can’t take credit for the walnut/date idea – it was actually an easy snack idea in a raw cookbook I picked up recently. I think there is one raw restaurant in my area, but I haven’t tried it yet. I’m hoping it’s just as good!
Those pancakes look amazing! Definitely on the top of my favorite breakfast foods list, but I don’t make them enough!

I seem to have made pancakes more frequently recently, I guess because I usually have the ingredients on hand. Nice weekend breakfast!
I’m a bit late to this post, but….
65 roses is a great organization. I’ve run a couple marathons as part of their group after I had a friend pass away from cystic fibrosis.
I think you are going to really enjoy it and do some good while you are out there!
I thought I remembered you running with them at some point! I’m excited to work with the group, can’t believe the kickoff is tomorrow! =)
